A Whirlwind So Far
Looking back over the first half of the year and all I can say is whirlwind! This year has been a whirlwind and it’s only halfway over! I’m happy to report that it’s been a good whirlwind too.
In February my husband and I celebrated one year as Pastor and “First Lady” of The 7th Day Pentecostal Church of the Living God. I also preached for our Women’s Ministry service. It was my first time preaching in a long time. You can see my message, “We Can All Be Angels” under the Preaching page of this site. In March we skipped the #DMV for a family Spring Break getaway. We stayed at the Massanutten Resort in McGaheysville, VA. While there we all gave indoor surfing a try and we spent a day at White Oak Lavendar Farm and the Purple Wolf Vineyard. We’ve been going to Massanutten for years and I am surprised we never stumbled across this place before. It’s very family friendly and we all enjoyed our day there. Checkout the pictures below of our family vacation.
In April my husband and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary; and we actually went out to eat…ALONE! I’m pretty sure this was our first date since the birth of our babygirl in September. We really value dates and alone time out, so this was so special. We went to Grace’s Mandarin at the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD. It’s an Asian Fusion cuisine restaurant.
May was amazing! Our church hosted an outdoor tent service for the community. We praised, worshipped and gave away nearly 100 bags of groceries to community members in need. This event was only an appetizer. In August we are commemorating the August 22nd, 2020 proclamation #7DPCMD received from Vice Mayor Tonya Harrison-Edwards of the town of Brentwood honoring Pastor Q (my hubby) and the 7th Day Pentecostal Church of the Living God's Community Day with a REVIVAL! We will be outdoors again with guest, Pastor Daniel Adams of The Supernatural Life. Check our church’s Facebook page for more information on that event.
In June we went on another family trip to celebrate the end of the school year. This time we spent a week camping in Savannah, GA. We spent a day at the beach also! In June I finally realized a dream to host my own “Discover Earth Camp”! It is an Earth Science STEM camp provided to a private christian school in Maryland. It’s so exciting to blend my faith, my fascination with Earth science and my passion to inspire the next generation of earth and environmental science professionals to bring this camp to life! If you’re interested in learning more about my camp and hosting a custom experience at your school or organization visit www.DiscoverEarthCamp.com.
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll check back in in a month with more. Be blessed!
