This Summer I Had Revival!

summer scripture.png

It’s officially Fall, and Summer just flew by! My plans this past Summer were to spend a lot of time relaxing, camping and going to the beach, but of course something always interrupted those plans. It’s okay though! I can look back at it with a smile because of all that I accomplished and got to be a part of. This summer…I experienced Revival!

Early in the summer I went camping in Savannah, GA…but everyone in the family got sick with a 24-hour bug that jumped from person to person! Thankfully we did get one day at the beach. I launched my summer camp (Discover Earth Camp) in June; and I was so excited to finally see that come to fruition because it was something that I envisioned for a long time. My 7 year old son was baptized in July and boy did this momma cry! I believe that water baptism is one of the most beautiful acts of faith an individual can take. Along with my son, four new members of our church were baptized!

In July I took my two boys camping with my college girlfriends and their families. We headed to Letchworth State Park in New York and spent a day at Niagara Falls. It was an awesome experience for my 7 and 5 year old boys. Can’t wait to go again with my husband and babygirl.

Now for the REVIVAL…

Over the past year my church, @7DPCMD has been studying the gifts of the Spirit, demonic strongholds, Discipleship, and Kingdom Power! This past summer we were teaching, preaching and walking in Deliverance and all of that led up to #Revival! At the end of August we hosted a two-day revival in Cottage City, MD. We had a special guest join us, Pastor Daniel Adams of The Supernatural Life in Orlando. The entire revival experience was amazing…like AMAZING! God took over and blew our minds. I literally witnessed people delivered of demons and I was empowered to usher others through deliverance. My husband, Pastor Q, baptized 47 people during the revival…47 people! The tears were flowing all over again. You can find highlights of the revival on Pastor Daniel Adams’ Instagram page and our church Facebook page. You can also see every video of the “Revival in Maryland” on The Supernatural Life YouTube page.

Why Is COVID-19 Still A Thing?

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - 2 Chronicles 7:14

When COVID-19 first started to spread I read the above scripture and began to pray! After all I am one of God’s people, called by his name. So I prayed so that God will hear from heaven and heal the land. Notice all the other stuff I left out from this scripture? I am going to take the onus on myself for falling short in intercession because God gave me this revelation, so that means I have to be at least somewhat responsible. If that doesn’t make sense now, I hope that it will make sense soon.

First, I do not care to debate masks, vaccines or the validity of COVID-19. It’s a global pandemic, so we need the Lord to heal the land. So, if all of God’s people have been praying like I assume we were…then why hasn’t God healed the land yet? I believe it’s because we have FAILED MISERABLY at humbling ourselves, and seeking his face, and turning from our wicked ways!

People of God…

…WE SHOULD BE HUMBLE!

…WE SHOULD SEEK GOD’S FACE!

…WE SHOULD NOT BE WICKED!

But over the past year I have witnessed self-righteousness and a lack of care or consideration for others that are hurting, disenfranchised, and suffering from sickness and loss. At times I have failed to seek God’s face concerning the world. The world is in need of the Gospel and needs to be set free of satanic strongholds (this topic is reserved for an episode on the podcast). Satan is very conniving and can deceive even the very elect christians into wickedness. We need to examine ourselves and get back down on our knees before God.

While examining what’s going on and why COVID is still around I have learned to express greater compassion and care for the hurting and suffering. I have begun seeking God’s face concerning the needs of the world and am going full steam in sharing the Gospel and walking in Deliverance as a holy spirit-filled ambassador of Christ. I am now especially aware of any doors or weak points in my life that can give way to wickedness. 1 Corinthians 10:23 says, ‘“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.’ I realize that I walk in a different calling and anointing than others, so the things that some people can do…I can’t do. Those things may not necessarily be sinful, but they can open a door to wickedness because of who I am. I believe I’m not alone in that.

Ambassadors, intercessors…the true people of God. We need to rise up and do our kingdom work, because our effectual and fervent prayer should get the attention of God’s ear and heal the land!

A Whirlwind So Far

Looking back over the first half of the year and all I can say is whirlwind! This year has been a whirlwind and it’s only halfway over! I’m happy to report that it’s been a good whirlwind too.

In February my husband and I celebrated one year as Pastor and “First Lady” of The 7th Day Pentecostal Church of the Living God. I also preached for our Women’s Ministry service. It was my first time preaching in a long time. You can see my message, “We Can All Be Angels” under the Preaching page of this site. In March we skipped the #DMV for a family Spring Break getaway. We stayed at the Massanutten Resort in McGaheysville, VA. While there we all gave indoor surfing a try and we spent a day at White Oak Lavendar Farm and the Purple Wolf Vineyard. We’ve been going to Massanutten for years and I am surprised we never stumbled across this place before. It’s very family friendly and we all enjoyed our day there. Checkout the pictures below of our family vacation.

In April my husband and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary; and we actually went out to eat…ALONE! I’m pretty sure this was our first date since the birth of our babygirl in September. We really value dates and alone time out, so this was so special. We went to Grace’s Mandarin at the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD. It’s an Asian Fusion cuisine restaurant.

May was amazing! Our church hosted an outdoor tent service for the community. We praised, worshipped and gave away nearly 100 bags of groceries to community members in need. This event was only an appetizer. In August we are commemorating the August 22nd, 2020 proclamation #7DPCMD received from Vice Mayor Tonya Harrison-Edwards of the town of Brentwood honoring Pastor Q (my hubby) and the 7th Day Pentecostal Church of the Living God's Community Day with a REVIVAL! We will be outdoors again with guest, Pastor Daniel Adams of The Supernatural Life. Check our church’s Facebook page for more information on that event.

In June we went on another family trip to celebrate the end of the school year. This time we spent a week camping in Savannah, GA. We spent a day at the beach also! In June I finally realized a dream to host my own “Discover Earth Camp”! It is an Earth Science STEM camp provided to a private christian school in Maryland. It’s so exciting to blend my faith, my fascination with Earth science and my passion to inspire the next generation of earth and environmental science professionals to bring this camp to life! If you’re interested in learning more about my camp and hosting a custom experience at your school or organization visit www.DiscoverEarthCamp.com.

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll check back in in a month with more. Be blessed!

Season 3

Simple Photo Spring Quote Instagram Post.png

Welcome to season 3 of Angel Reads the Bible, or should I say, re-launch 3.0! I’m changing up the format this year and *fingers crossed* hopefully the world won’t be thrown for another major loop so that I’ll be able to successfully and consistently deliver thought-provoking episodes that will encourage you to become all God has created you to be!

This year I’ll share a “Monthly Message” and will continue to regularly release weekly scripture readings. I also plan to blog regularly, share videos of my preaching (Yep, sometimes I preach in my home church!), host Clubhouse Rooms (Follow me @AboutAngelM), and go Live on Instagram too (Also @AboutAngelM)! Lord willing, I’ll be able to host a live podcast event this year...if not in person, then definitely virtually.

While many are quick to kick off the new year with new goals and resolutions, I decided to ease into the new year with intention (<--- That’s my word for the year!). Partially because 2020 shook me up and initially scared me out of setting goals; BUT I’m a child of God and I had to remind myself of the very word that the Lord gave me (see Episode 11, “Revisit the Vision 2020”); I had to take my time to seek the Lord on my vision and goals for the year and allow the Lord himself to reveal to me what he will have me to do in this year. Prayerfully I am faithful and will fulfill all that God has called me to.

This week is Launch Week! Now that Spring is here, I am going to have a few “Spring” giveaways for you! Follow my Instagram to see the rules and for your chance to win. For now, comment below, use the contact page or message me on Instagram to tell me what you hope to see this year from me and “Angel Reads The Bible”.

2020 So Far…

Now that I’m currently resetting my life…again…like many of you…I’m reflecting back on 2020 so far.

Now that I’m currently resetting my life…again…like many of you…I’m reflecting back on 2020 so far. Here’s a look back at my year:

January: Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to Me! Kicked off the year with an exciting week at my favorite annual conference, the American Meteorological Society’s Annual Meeting and Centennial Celebration in Boston. I also found out that I was pregnant…didn’t expect to start the year with baby news!

February: Feeling excited about the year ahead and implementing my goals, I attended the Spark Christian Podcasters Conference in Houston to improve and perfect my new-found passion of podcasting!

March: I was dealing with first trimester sickness so I needed life to slow down…

April: I found ways to appreciate the slower pace of life as the world attempted to flatten the curve of COVID-19. You know, baking, gardening, Zoom meet-ups & Houseparty with family and friends. I also launched Season 2 of my podcast, Angel Reads the Bible à www.angelreadsthebible.com

May: I thought I had the current norm all figured out and started the month strong! I was the guest speaker at a virtual conference for #mamahustlers, the Launch and Lead Like a Mama conference…then had my world shaken up with racial injustice issues really coming to light.

June: I attempted to push forward, but I was in the throws of completing my M.S. degree in Environmental Policy and Management…I finally earned my M.S. y’all! #classof2020 At least my family and I found time to get away in a safe, socially distanced manner by camping in Savannah, GA.

July: Finally able to breathe after completing school, I buckled down to turn my life goals into actual plans-of-action for the future. I was also balancing being a wife, mom, baking a baby, ministering in a church (virtually), working remotely 9-to-5, home remodeling, and maintaining my sanity…

August: Still doing most of the above, but NOW I’m implementing my plans in order to disconnect next month for the birth of my baby girl and remain on track to accomplish my goals, though that track isn’t always the clearest.

So what’s next?

…I trust God.

…I welcome my new baby.

…I finish the year strong.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Jeremiah 29:11
